Renters finally look set to gain some breathing space because of lower interest rates and the possibility of a global recession impacting on the Australian economy.
The latest quarterly rental report by Australian Property Monitors (APM) shows falls or no change in rents for a number of major cities, and opens the possibility of a further moderation before the end of year.
Median unit rents in Perth fell six per cent in September, and were also lower in Canberra, Hobart and on the Gold Coast, while they were unchanged in the country's most populous cities, Sydney and Melbourne .
Median housing rents also fell in Canberra by two per cent, while they were unchanged in Melbourne , Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Retail banks have cut their standard variable mortgage rates by just a full percentage point in the past two months after the Reserve Bank of Australia slashed its official cash rate.
Financial markets are predicting further official rate cuts in coming months, with a half percentage point reduction priced in for when the RBA board next meets November 4.

基本上我不太會看這懂新聞，原本是想找有關Dolphins游到Darling Harbour的相關新聞，不過找不到，所以就隨便看一則啦XD其實這樣的新聞是對租房子的人有利，在澳洲的房租計算方式和台灣不同，台灣大多是月繳，但這是有分周繳，兩周繳等，現在全球經濟大危機，在澳洲這裡消費更是要計較，不過目前看一些新聞，這裡的primary minister Kevin Rudd推行的一些政策還不錯，至少短期間穩住人民恐惧的心吧^^
PS說真的，文章裡還滿多減少，削減或者降低的單字XD
