ignore、polite
clutter、crockery、cutlery(背的方式為crockery + cutlery = clutter)
pace = speed
unfortunately = unlucky
sore
regret = to be sorry about someone or something
wise = clever、smart
像euthanasia→illegal→Sydney Aquarium→convenient→card→expiry date <=> valid
Lost baby whale may have to be put down
A yacht owner in Sydney woke up this morning to find the lost humpback whale calf trying to suckle from his boat.
The young humpback whale, which was separated from its mother off Sydney's northern beaches, seems to think the yacht in Pittwater is its mother.
Peter Lewis woke up to find a baby whale underneath his yacht at The Basin.
"I've been sailing back from Port Stephens and came in late last night and came in to a strange sucking sound on the bottom of the boat," Mr Lewis said.
"It sounds like someone with a great vacuum cleaner trying to suck the bottom of the boat.
"But I realise now the whale must be sick or something, it's sort of limp."
Authorities are being called in to determine if it is the same humpback as the one that tried to suckle from a boat yesterday.
Rescuers had tried to lure the whale out to sea, but the National Parks and Wildlife Service says it will have to consider putting it down if it cannot find another female to feed from.
The baby whale probably has not had a feed since Friday.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service says the five-tonne calf was most likely rejected by its mother but taking it into captivity is not an option.
Whale rescuers fear the baby whale might be trying to beach itself in a bay in Pittwater.
Mr Lewis says the calf has now headed for shallow waters.
Ron Ling, from the whale rescue organisation ORCA, says it could be a sign the whale is going to beach itself, but he still hopes it can be led out to sea to join another pod of humpbacks.
"It is a possibility, it could also be just venturing and exploring as well because young whales do that," he said.
"It needs to be among it's own kind, not only for the feeding side of things, also for the protection - whales are very protective of their young."
